Zatar, or zaatar, is a spice of Arabic cuisine, however, as a mixture of spices, it exists in many variations and ingredients. For example, in Morocco people keep their zaatar recipe as a family secret. It was originally sprinkled on Arabic pita bread, but it can also be sprinkled on almost everything: fried vegetables, pastries, salads e.t.c.
