The whole green cardamom actually hides, in its beautiful green case, the tiny little black seeds (about 20 pieces in each case) that give the cardamom a real and strong flavor. Cardamom seeds are also sold separately, purified, but are less common in this form.
Green cardamom started its conquest journey from India, yet today one of the main suppliers of the world trade is Guatemala, we get ours from here. This is partly due to the lower price due to lower production costs and partly due to the fact that Indian cardamom is practically processed locally there.
The whole cardamom is added to coffee in Saudi Arabia, teas and vegetable soups in Egypt. Also extremely popular to flavor mulled wine.
Store in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight.
